The organization was founded by the Onwuka family with the purpose of providing meaningful support to the communities that played a pivotal role in our upbringing prior to relocating to the United States. Recognizing the significant impact these communities had on our development, the organization's mission is to give back, strengthen, and uplift them. As a family-run entity, we collaborate closely with local family members who supervise daily operations, ensuring that all services are provided efficiently and in accordance with our objectives.
Our Mission
Community outreach initiatives began in 2019, with Given Hope Charities officially established in 2023 after the creation of the Given Hope Women’s Cooperative. The primary purpose for establishing the organization was to expand our capacity to serve a larger portion of the community.
The mission of Given Hope Charities is to foster a community where individuals have the ability to become self-sufficient. Our goal is to empower individuals to take control of their livelihoods, enabling them to support themselves independently. By uplifting and inspiring others within the community, we aim to create a ripple effect where those who succeed will be motivated to help others achieve similar success.
